Quote by DREAM[EDITED] ok: it seems you are scanning at 72ppi [pixels per inch]. i suggest scanning at 300 ppi minimum. this will allow for more info [pixels] to be displayed. i usually scan at 1200ppi [but this is overkill] and 600ppi at the[minimum].

ah i see- you use Paint Shop Pro. i started out on PSP myself- excellent program for the price. here is an example of a Hiroki Mafuyu scan i did. the interesting thing is if the SET COMPRESSION VALUE is above 25% the image pixels contract together. in essence it will be the equivalent of using a filter which joins the pixels tightly together. another useful tool i have found is scanning directly into PSP itself. this is under FILE IMPORT TWAIN ETC.

please don't think i am being over-critical you are doing great work. :)

Thank you for your suggestions. I don't think you're being over critical =]

Anyways, I'm not using Paint Shop Pro. Image is scanned with my scanner software at 600dpi and then optimized in Photoshop 7 using the Save for Web function to reduce file size. Therefore, DPI is changed from 600 to 72. My artbook dimension is only 10x10", scanning at only 72dpi would mean that the image height is only 720px, not 3000px like you see here.

Here is another image scanned from this same artbook: Eno - Unveiled 2 by plumeris

This scan doesn't have that blurred effect. The blurriness you see on Wild Rose 01 by plumeris is due to the artist's CG effect.

Quote by DREAM j' adore- makes me want to wall again..:)

one thing lady plumeris: when you scan be sure NOT to use any filters. i.e Gausssian blur etc. this allows for easier extraction.

always keep the scan raw. scan, crop, resize, and save at high.

keep those great scans coming. ^^

Thank you. Scan is raw. I only optimize the file for compression. Any sort of blurring is done by the artist themselves.

nevermind, the images were scanned by jumpc *goes to update her link* although they were downloaded altogether through emule.

Quote by MarissaHey there. I realize this is a rather odd request, but do you think you could possibly remember and tell me where you downloaded the originals of La Cerisaie by Izumi Sakurazawa ( http://gallery.aethereality.net/list/artist/140/2/ )? It'd help me out a quite bit with a little moderating issue...
As a little incentive to (hopefully) help you remember, I'd be willing to let go of a few more artbooks that I have that are on your wishlist. *Really wants to trade for the other Dezhen artbook (do you still have it?) :p*

Hi there,

I'm pretty sure I downloaded it off emule from verycd.com. Hope this help.

Yes, I still have the other Dezhen artbook. I think I might be able to find a copy of her other book: The Zephyr Love Stories of the Royal Manchu (http://gallery.aethereality.net/list/artbook/245/) for you too, let me know if you want it. What do you have in mind for the trade?

Thank you for proposing my image to be highlighted =]
